Opening ceremony of the Third Ecuadorian Food Festival 2016 at Doha – Qatar

The Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador to the State of Qatar with the collaboration of theDSCN2214 Diplomatic Club of Doha inaugurated the Third Ecuadorian Food Festival 2016 on April 6th at the Diplomatic Club in Doha.

The event was attended by 300 guests them were important authorities of the Government of the State of Qatar such as  H.E. Sheikh Hassan Bin Khaled Al Thani, Private Secretary of H.H. the Emir of Qatar for the Royal Family Affairs; H.E. Sheikh Soltan Saad Al-Moraikhi, Vice- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, H.E. festival_gastronomico_ecuatoriano_en_catar_4Mohammad Bin Twar Al–Kuwari, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar, H.E. Faleh Moubarak Al-Hajri, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Sports; Ambassador Ibrahim  Fakhro, Director of Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors accredited in Qatar,  Ecuadorian residents as well as representatives of Qatari civil society.

This event was covered by several important local media of press, radio and television as such asfestival_gastronomico_ecuatoriano_en_catar_3 Gulf Times, The Peninsula, Al Watan, Al- Sharq, Al Raya, Qatar Tv and others.

H.E. Ambassador Kabalan Abisaab, welcomed the guests emphasizing that the Ecuadorian Food Festival has become an annual tradition where the Embassy shares with the Qatari society a happy moment as well as a part of the Ecuadorian culinary culture.

festival_gastronomico_ecuatoriano_en_catar_5The Ambassador Kabalan Abisaab said “Biodiversity, fertile land, endemic species, a singular geographical configuration, a multicultural society and ancestral customs, are some of the factors that come together to make Ecuador a land with unique culinary wealth.”

Each province of Ecuador has a variety of its own dishes and beverages, reflecting the fruits of its soil and the culture of its people. The Ecuadorian table becomes a multicolored, multiflavored and multicultural mosaic”.

Ambassador Kabalan Abisaab extended the audience an invitation to visit Ecuador, to know its cultural richness, beauty and especially its wonderful people.

Finally, Ambassador Kabalan Abisaab gave plates to Ambassador Ibrahim Fakhro, festival_gastronomico_ecuatoriano_en_catar_2Director
of Protocolo Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and to  the Ambassador Saad Muhammad Al-Tamimi, Executive Director of the Diplomatic Club as a  symbol of gratitude for the permanent support given to the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador to the State of Qatar.

The guests enjoyed the Ecuadorian food combined with a friendly atmosphere and Ecuadorian music background.

The Ecuadorian Food Festival will continue until April 16th,2016 at the Diplomatic Club.
